ONE HEALTH
APPROACH?

Humans, animals, and the environment are closely connected—and so are the diseases that affect them. Infections can move between animals and people, making it important to address health challenges across all sectors.

Antimicrobial resistance is one example. Drug-resistant microbes can spread between animals and humans through direct or indirect contact. Using antibiotics responsibly in farming and fisheries is therefore essential to protecting everyone’s health.
